Today is connect the lead pipe of the sewage outlets located below the Friendship Bridge into ECOLOGICAL PLANT, this activity was attended by members of the association that started this project called PRO-LAGO, Consul Germany and some residents of Panajachel.
PRO-LAGO Association is comprised of a group of residents of this town and foreigners living in Panajachel who care about the welfare and recovery of Lake Atitlan, and donations from residents and people from other countries such as :
- Group Lions of the city Zeitz in Germany
- Atitlan Foundation in Germany
- Relatives and friends of the Honorary Consul of Germany in Panajachel
managed to get the pipe and construction materials are now used to channel one of the waterfalls that pollutes the river and thus the Lake Atitlan.
This connection of the pipe was made today intended to mitigate the pollution of about 12 liters per second of water falling into the river served San Francisco, which in one year is 3000 kilos of phosphorus by the Technical Committee of the Association for Lake Atitlan .
